Weighing the Mail.

Postmaster F. B. Meyer has received instructions from Postmaster General Cartelyou to keep a reord from July 1 to December 31, of all second class mail matter handled at the local office. This includes matters received for free distribution and also at a one-cent a pound rate, so as to show the weight] in pounds, respectively by classes of daily newspapers, weekly and other than daily newspapers, magazines, scientific periodicals educational periodicals religious periodicals, trade journal agricultural periodicals, miscellaneous periodicals and sample copies of the same.
