The right of a couuty treasurer to charge a per cent, for collecting the taxes of incorporated towns is to be thoroughly thrashed out in the courts by the authorities of the town ot Knightstown against William C. Hess. ex county treasurer of Middletown, to recover a a sum of $614.12 charged by him as a per cent tor collecting the corporatiotM taxes. All of the bondsmea of Hess are made parties to the suit. No matter which way the suit is decided it will be carried to'tjie Supreme court. The outcome may affect every town in the state.
