A Record Breaking Surprise Party.

Last Friday, July 6th was the 39th birthday of Samuel Parker, of Hanging Grove tp., and the neighbors gathered and marched into his house at eight o’clock. There were 101 in the company, which made as is supposed the largest crowd ever met in a similar occasion in that township, Sam was in bed, but he piled out awful quick, supposing the cattle were in the corn. Mr. Moulds furnished 15 gallons of ice-cream and every lady there a fine cake, so that everybody present had something to eat, except Mr. Parker, and he wastoosur prised to eat, and only took three pieces of cake and six dishes of ice cream. The evening was spent in singing and games and social corfVersation, and everybody had a fine time and at 12:30 a. m. they all left wishing Mr. Parker 39 more years of health and prosperity, and a better appetite the next time he was given a surprise party.
