AN INSANE CHICAGO MAN CAPTURED.

Early last Friday morning, Sheriff O’Connor got a telephone call from Fair Oaks to come up there and take care of an insane man who was reported as rampaging ar und in the woods, bare headed and tearing up the grass and weeds, until the whole community was scared at his performances. The Sheriff sent word back for Frank Goff to go out and get the man and hpld him. The Sheriff and Marshal Parks then went up on the milk train and brought the man down and placed him in the padded celt He was crazy all right, but ration al enough in spots to give a pretty reasonable account of himself. He

is an iron moulder by vocation, and his name Michael Kalb, is □bout 30 or 35 years old and Jh e 1 on West Superior street, Chicago How he came to have wandered down into Jasper county he was not able then to tell. He talked about snakes and fish, and while he was out in the woods near Fair Oaks he was very much concerned about a case ot beer, he thought he had lost in the grass, and he feared others would'find it before he did/ His fears would have been well founded up in that region had the beer been an actuality, instead of a figment of his dreams. When he got him here the Sheriff asked him what he would have for dinner and he promptly ordered one that would have done credit to a Delmonico restaurant patron, with baked shad as the leading feature. His order was not filled in all respects, but he ate a hearty meal for all that.
