June Was a Dry Month.
June just pawned was unusually* dry in Rensselaer, and in some regions of Jasper county was still dryer, and again in other parts was much wetter, which is pretty sure to be the case during all the summer months, when the rains mostly come in local showers rather than in general storms. Tn ’ Rensselaer the total rainfall for the month was only 1.76 inches, as compared with 13.86 in 1902, 2.34 in 1903,„3.88 in 1904 and 2.77 in 1905. Or only about half the normal amount. It came on nine different days, well through the month, and the most on any one? day was .67 of an inch on the Bth. There was more than the ordinary amount of hot weather and on two days, the 28 and 29, there was the record breaking heat of 94} and 95 degrees. The coolest weather was 44 degrees, on the 12th. There was about the ordinary amount of clouds and sunshine, 15 days being clear, 10 partly clear and five cloudy. The month was unusually free from violent Storms of all kinds.
