Washington Herald: The result of the State’s suit against ex auditor Daily shows that Governor Hanly knew what he was doing when he ordered proceed i 11 gs brou gh tagai nst the former auditors to recover money unlawfully held by them. It is Oscar Henderson’s turn now, and the suit against him will be brought to an issue within a few days. Henderson owes the state SIOO,OOO. No wonder his brother in-law, John W. Kern, never neglects an oppor tunity to abuse Governor Hanly. 1 •

The following paragraph from the Republicaa state platform states a fact which is worthy of consideration by every voter. It is a record of achievement to which the Re publica is have reason to point with pride. ‘‘ A Republican administration means a reduction of the state debt. The present administration has reduced that debt ?407.0tX>. ami during the last twelve years of Republican control of state affairs the state debt has been reduced from $7,512,615.12 to $e,259,615 12. The foreign debt of the state is now only SBOO,OOO. The option to pay thia < debt does not accrue until 1910, and 1 the debt does not- liecome due until 1915. By reason of Republican i business management we will be able to pay and cancel all of the bonded indebtedness of the state that can ever be paid, the date the option to pay matures, and five years before it is due. without adding a mill to the state tax levy.”
