Stone Crusher to Start Up.

Hawkins & Allman, of Berning ton, contractors for the Jordan stone road, have just leased D. H. Yeoman’s stone crushing outfit and will at once put the same in operation here. It is their intention to move their own crusher over from the Garrison ditch where it now is, and use that in copnection with Mr. Yeoman’s screen and other machinery, their crusher being of somewhat larger capacity than Mr. Yeoman’s. It was the general understanding that they would use rook here that had been drilled and blasted for the Iroquois ditch, but instead of this they arranged to quarry what they needed from Kellner’s ice pond. They will use 1,200 yards and perhaps more. They have used the Garrison ditch stone on about a mile and a half, and will use the Rensselaer rock on five-eights of a mile, at the north end, and will still have about a mile at the south end they will ship in rock from Logansport for. None of the top dressing has been put on yet and much of that will be from here.
