Nowels-Meyer Wedding.

A charming little wedding oc cured last Wednesday at the hoine|of Mr. and Mrs. Ray D. Thompson on South Cullen stseet, when their sister Miss Grace Nowels became the bride of Mr. Lawson H. Meyer. The hospitable home was filled with guests, and as the hour, eight o’clock approached for the ceremony, a stillness came over the the assembled company. Through chains of similax, lead W to the west parlor, and to the soft, beautiful strains of “Lohengrin's” wedding march, the wedding party took its way with measured steps. First, Mr. Lawson H. Meyer and Mr. Albert C. Rhoades, grooms man; then the brides maids, Miss Ida Nowels and Miss Thena Meyer, gowned in pink mull and lace with arm boqnets of pink sweet peas; lastly, came the oride, walking alone, beautifully gowned in white, with misty veil, and carrying a shower boquet of white sweet - peas. The bride’s father, William R. Nowels, awaited the bridal party, and while “Oh, Promise Me” was softly performed the impressive ring ceremony winch united these two in marriage. After heartiest congratulations, elegant refreshments were served. Upon leaving for the station, the bride threw her boquet among the eager, happy friends surrounding her. Needless to say, the bride and groom were accompanied to the station, and, although they made a dignified run for the train, they took with them the usual shower of rice, old shoes, good wishes and hearty congratulations. The wedding was marked by its simplicity and quiet elegance. Smilax and pink sweet peas formed the decorations.
