It Cost Them A Lot, [?]yhow.

Ooe Lafayette paper said the other day that it was understood that Haywood and McHugh -each received $7,500- for their share in defending the McCoys. The Courier now says that it understands that the amount was 17,500 between them, which sounds more reasonable. But evenjit that figure, their trial probably east them not less than SLO,OOO, as there were still two other lawyers to pay, and mul-; titudinous other .expenses, and no >one knows just what the market 4>rice is for a juryman over in White county, either. Probably 4110,000 would be much under the total cost of the trial to them, even ifdhe Courier’s figures are right as to the Lafayette lawyers’ share.
