Tom Is Anchored at Last.
A press dispatch from Michigan City, dated June 21, says: ‘'Tom Met oy, ex banker and politician of Rensselaer, was received at the state . prison here this afternoon to berve a term -of from one to three years for embezzlement. After the failure of the bank M«Coy went to Chicago, where he engaged in the brokerage business at the Union Stockyards. He arrived here this afternoon from,Chicago, whereby closed >his stockyandsof&ce, bidding sheriff and attorneys, accompanying him good by without any show o 4 emotion. It is expected (that Me Coy win be given a clerical posi-l tion.” 'We hardly know what .kind of a clerical job Tom will fit into. He certainly never had any great repu tat ion as a book keeper, though he ought to be a pretty good hand at jotting down overdrafts, if they have much of that to do.
