First Checker Tournament.

An interesting ninecornered checker tournament, which it is proposed to make the first of a series, took place Friday night at the Little Indian Cigar store. S. Stevens made a score of 26 out of a'possible 32. each player having met his eight competitors in two games. Wins counted 2 points and draws 1 point. When Stevens and J. A. McFarland met for the last game the score stood 24 for the former, while the latter. Thomas and Healey each had 23 points and no games to play.
