Former Jasper Men Killed at Valparaiso

Theie was a lamentable railroad accident at Valparaiso, Wednesday evening, whereby two men met in stunt death, and whom the Vai pa raiso papers assert, had lately been residents of jasper county. They were Bert Ruley and his son -in-law, Harry 11. Grace. They had been out in the evening trying to sell a bird dog belonging to Ruley. In hisjthey were unsuccessful. and were returning home on the Pennsylvania railroad tracks. It is sup posed that they met a freight train and stepped upon the other track, just in time to be struck by a fast passenger train. Grace’s body was fbundjthe same evening, but Koley 's was thrown far into a ditch and was not found until the next morning, when his faithful dog was found keeping guard over it. Ruley was 56 years old and was employed as a ditcher. He leaves a wife, one son and two daughters. Grace was 26 years old and leaves a wife and two small children. He was employed in driving a dray wagon. - -=~
