A Mother In Israel, Truly.
At the funeral of the late Mrs. Mary McColly, held Sunday, the pall bearers were six of her many grandsons, namely, Leslie Alter, Clay Hopkins, Dudley Pierson, John McColly, Fred McColly, and Willie McColly. Besides her eight living children, her descendants are 40 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. t A very notable fact in connection with these descendants is that there are 22 voters among them, being five sons, 14 grandsons and also three sons in law, and every one of the whole number is a Rc - publican. There are also several more grandsons soon to be added tt> the list, and it will not be very long before the great grandsons begin to join the voters’ list. There are also at least ten grand sons in-law who are voters, and ot these only two are known to be Democrats, and the others are all believed to be Republicans. Another notable fact in this connection is that seven of these 14 voting grandsons are all members of one family, being sons of the late Rev. Aaron E. Pierson and wife, both deceased. Relatives from away who attended the funeral were Capt. G. W. Payne and wife, of Monticello, Estil E. Pierson and wife, of Morocco, Ben D. McColly and wife aud C- A. McColly aud Dudley Pierson, all of Chicago Heights.
