A Successful Class Function
A most magnificient and elaborate function of its kind took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. A L. Hollingsworth last evening. A reception was tendered to thejuniors by the seniors'of the., ( High School, and its complete success was large ly due to the generosity of Mrs. Hollingsworth, who not only threw open her house to the large crowd of about ninety people, but also was responsible for the expense and refreshments and much of the work of the affair. The rooms were elaborately decorated in the class colors in forms of pennants, and brilliantly lighted. The guesls were all in masquerade costumes and represented'in an entirely successful manner aU forms of men am. demons. • The juniors, boys and girls both, all wore costumes a’ike, consisting of blue and maize robes. The seniors were flower girls, gyp sies, milkmaids, Indians, Spanish maids, Turks, clowns, gold dust twins, devils, Japs, old Rubes, and a bride and groom. While the masks were on riot reigned; following unmasking came charades, in which prizes were awarded to Miss Shedd and Homer Dobbins, consisting of a beautiful pillow and a silk pennant. The favors given were tiny felt booklets in the class colors of both classes, and were used in the charades. Refreshments to suit a crowd of epicures rather than school girls and boys, were served. The crowd went home happy at about Ip.m.
