Must Repay Campaign Gift.

The self-investigating committee of the New York Life Insurance Company, in a supplemental report, holds that tho contributions made by former President McCall to the Republican national committee in the last three campaigns, amounting to $148,702.50, were not legally justified and propose* to bring suit to recover the money. This will bring McCall’s liabilities up to $125,000. Tho committee says that it believed McCall was actuated by a desire to benefit and protect the policy .holders, although bis act was illegal.
