Close Call For The Hordenman Residence.
The Peter Hordemau residence, a mile west of town, had a narrow escape from burning last, Wednesday morning. A fire was discovered in the roof of the kitchen, about 9.30 o’clock, by Miss Mary Hordeman, who was the only person at home at the time. The fire had got quite a start when discovered, and Miss Hordeman was at a loss how to cope with it without help, but fortunately, just at that time Frank King, of our city, came along, and with his help the fire was put out, with no further damage than a hole burned in the roof about four or five feet square. This house is one that was built to replace an earlier Hordeman house,, some half mile further west, which was burned down about 11 years ago. ...... \ ‘
