LaPorte Republican; Intense interest is being manifested by the land owners of Porter and Jasper counties in relation to improving the channel of the Kankakee river and in carrying the work done by the Kankakee Reclamation Company to the Porter county line ana through Porter County and Jasper county. . Ths land owners have called a meeting for March 10, 1906, at Wheatfield to eoasider the matter. This work is of the greatest importance to the land owners along the Kankakee river, especially in Porter and Jasper counties for the reason thijt the water is brought down more rapidly on their lands with no adequate means of carrying it off as desired. . f ".......
