Dan Storms Has Resigned.

Dan Storms has at last concluded to get out of the Secretary of State’s office before he was kicked out, and has handed in his resignation to Governor Hanly. The resignation is to take effect on the first of April, and the Governor agrees that Storms can hold the office until that time with the condition that Storms is to pay into the state treasury the §6,310,40, claimed by Hanly to be due from Storms. Frank Sims, Republican candidate for Secretary, has been appointed by the Governor to fill out Storms’ unexpired term. There is some tdk that Storms’ resignation will put an end to the Governor’s supposed plan for a special session of the Legislature. But this seems to be by no means certain, as there were several other* reasons why a special session was thought of, besides the Storms matter. Such, for instance, as the need for a two cent per miles railroad passenger rate; and a law to regulate the keeping of public money by public officers, and several other matters the Governor is said to have in mind.
