Knotts Makes Another Big Fee.
A. F. Knotts, of Hammond, may be sat down upon in a political way once in a while, as he seems to have been in the late mix up over the district chairmanship, but in the more substantial matters of getting there with the goods when there is some big money to be made, he is right to the front. His recent earning of a $75,000 fee for negotiating a big land purchase for the U. S. Steel Company, has now bean duplicated, according to reports, by his working up another big deal, whereby two railroads have bought 1,500 acres of land in the same general region for terminal yards. The land hes been assessed at $50 per acre but the owners sell t now for $700 per acre.
