List of Republican Aspirants For Politi- * cal Honors. The following candidates have annouuced their willingness to enter the fight: FOR STATE AUDITOR. 7 At the present time til3*only Teal, sure enough candidate for the State Auditoi are John Bilheimer of Daviess county, and Elmer E. Stoner of Hancock county. They are in the race to stay and are making a fight. The understanding is that Frank Doran of Laporte county may be a candidate. Other names mentioned are James Davis of Elwood, and former State Senator “Si” Powell of Cass tyFOR TREASURER OF STATE. John W. Dyer of Lake county, Oscar Hadley of Hendricks county, Joynce Monahan of Orange county, and Jacol Joel of Montgomery cbunfyare avowed - candidates and it may be that others will come into the running. Mr. Dyer made a great race against the prince o: alt campaigners, Nat U. Hill, and Mr. Dyer’s friends feel that he will be able to land the nomination this time. FOR CLERK OF SUPREME COURT. The nomination for clerk of the Supreme Court is going to be a lively on.e, or rather, it is already a lively one, and Ed V. Fitzpatrick of Jay county, and Everett Neal of Hamilton county, are throwing the dirt in every [direction. There was some talk that “Bob” Brown, the present clerk, would try it again, but he has decided not to make the run.
SUPT. OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION. The fight for Superintendent of Public Instruction has grown interesting. The candidates are: Fasset A. Ootton of Henry county, Jobs W. Lewis of Wabash, James H. Tomlin of Shelby, and W. E. Stitt of Marton. Cotton is asking for a third term and in spite of that fact is easily the favorite. There is no question that he has the support of a majority of the school teachers of Indiana and he is receiving the op position of several school book concerns that have not been able to use his office.
JUDGE OF THE APPELATE COURT. Eveiy day brings out new candidates for judge of tbe Appellate court. The latest is Ward H. Watson, former State Senator irom Clark county, who made his announcement Saturday. Samuel R. Artman of Boone county has the matter under consideration, and probably will make an announcement late. Judge Rabb of Warren county has made his wants known. C. C. Hadley, present Assistant Attorney General of Indiaua, who is accredited to Hendricks county, but who lives in Indianapolis, has been in the race for some time. Woodfin D. Robinson of Gibson county, David A. Myers of Decatur county, James B. Black of Marion county, Daniel ,W. Comstock of Wayne county, U. Z. Wiley of Benton, and Frank S. Roby of DeKalb county, who composed the present Appellate bench arc all candidates for re-election. J. W. Thompson of Marion county also wishes to go on that bench. Judge John F. McClure of Madison county, Judge Piety of Vigo county, and Judge Rose of Steuben county, also are mentioned. JUDGE OF THE BUPREME COURT. Judge Leander J. Monks, and Judge James H. Jordan, present members of the supreme bench, are candidates re-election and O. X. Heaton, judge Of the superior court of Allen county, is a candidate against Judge Monks of Randolph
county. Up to the present ti me Judge Jordan of Morgan county has no opposition. CANDIDATES WITH NO OPPOSITION. For Secretary of State, Fred A. Sims of Clinton county; for State Statistician, Joseph H. Stubbs of Marion county: for State Geologist, W. S. Blatchley of Marion covnty.
