Hammond Rummies Will Retaliate.

Hammond, Ind., Jan. 23.-Angry because the police commissioners insist on a strict enforcement of the Nicholson law, tne Saloon Keepers Association, numbering 100 members held a meeting Monday and determined to iusist on the enforce ment of the Sunday closing law as an entirety. They demand that drug stores, m irkets, fruit, confectionery, news and refreshment stands be closed, and they will not permit the sale of Sunday newspapers. They will also prosecute every person plying his vocation on Sunday. Theaters will be required to close. The association has employed counsel to assist in a war of retaliation because sal ons are re qutred to close on Suudays.
