Some Fine Horses Bought.
Granville and Charley Moody and Granville’s son Tom and Fred Phillips all attended Hayworth’s big sale lof pure bred Percheron Norman horses at Lowell, Thurs day. He sold 20 head, including stallions and mares and from weanling colts up and they brought an average pi ice of $5Ol per head, and ?red says tnis is the best average for a mixed lot ever received at a lorse sale in this country. The highest price brought for mares was SB3O for a six year old. Our young townsman, Tom Moody, who is a graduate of lowa Agriculural College and knows all about big horses, lashed out large at the sale and bought two of the three )est ones sold. One was a three year old mare for $725 and one a full aged mure fbr $425. He is jetting ready to raise fine horses on iis father’s farm in Barkley, and )ought these mares for a starter. Charley Moody bought a fine Shire mare 7 years old, for $385. The* mares sold weighed from s ,700 to 1,90(1 and the stallions from 1,950 to 2,100. The highest stallion price was SI,OOO.
