A Record Sale of Draft Horses. Granville Moody, who paid the record price for draft mares to bring into Jasper county, at th- 1 big horse sale at Lowell Thursday, also made the record sale of Jasper county draft mares the same day. A Mr. Shaffer, of Muncie attended the same sale, intending to buy a big team of mares for farm work and breeding purposes. The prices at the Sale were a little too rich for his blood, but Granville told him of two splendid fine mares he owned on his larm in Barkley, which he would sell, and Mr. Shaffer came down with bt m to look at the mares, They suited him all right, and the price seemed to suit him all right, too. Anyhow, he bought the mares and paid for them the rousing big price of S6OO for the pair. They are a mighty fine pair though, and no doubt worth the money. They weigh 1,750 pounds each, or 3,500 for the pair, and last year one of them raised a colt which sold for $125 when 5 months old.
