ELOPEMENT PROVES FIASCO.
Miaa Bauch and Lieut. Dehaner May Not Marry After All. The two principals in the strenuous St Louis romance, who apparently are not to be married afteT all. Brewer Adolphus Busch’s daughter went to Belleville, 111., with Scharrer, who is a suitor from Stuttgart, Germany. They sought a marriage license, but could not get one. The. girl communicated with her father, who ordered her home, saying she could be married there just as well. However, Miss Busch has been taken to the
country home of the family, and rumors that he frightened Miss Busch into consent by displaying a pistol are not discussed by Scharrer. He is also reported to have demanded a miliion-dollar dowry for his intended bride.
