Alleged Gambling Joint Raided.
Thursday afternoon Officer Vick arrested August Rosenbaum, the well known saloon keeper, on the charge of keeping a gambling house, and one Tom Johnson on the charge of gambling. The warrants were sworn out by a youug man named Bernice, Brown, of Barkley Tp., and who claims that » his father, Oscar Brown, was relived of his cash, not long ago, in a poker game in a room over Rosey’s saloon. Both men plead not guilty, and Johnson’s trial was set for 11 o’clock a. m. Saturday, and Ro ey’s for 10 a. m. Monday, but this morning Johnson changed his mind and plead guilty. And in the afternoon Mr. Rosenbaum followed suit, also with a plea of guilty- Johnson was fined $5 and costs, and Rosey $lO and costs. It is understood that there are others named in the warrants whose turns will'come later.
