THE BIG POULTRY SHOW ENDED.

The first big poultry show Jasper County ever had ended at 9 o'clock last Saturday night, at which time the exhibitors were permitted to remove their- exhibits. The show was a great success, not only in the extent and character of the exhibits, but also in the attendance and the public interest shown. And still further, in the beuefit it was to raisers of poultry and pet stock, in the facilities it gave to sell their products. Thus, nearly every exhibitor of poultry made large sales, including Wm. Geier, Emmet Pul lins, Os Ritchey, Tom the Comers, and others. Floyd Robinson also cleaned out all his pups at good prices, and Chris Morganegg had all Kinds of big money offered for his pet coon, but the coon was not on the market. As for the baby exhibits, they would have gone quick at any prices the owners might haVe named, but, lise the coon, and even more so, they were not for sale.

Tne baby show, by the way, was such a popular feature that it is sure to be repeated next year, and with many more exhibitors. In fact, Fred Phillips, whose baby won the prize in the nine months and under class this time, but will be disqualified for the 18 months or under class next year, has already been assured that there will be plenty more competition then, both iirthe older class, and younger class also, which, as yet, be is not at all sure of competing in. It is probable, also, that there will be more classes next year, not only to let in babies over 18 months, but also to put the boy babies and the girl babies in different classes, as boys have prac ♦ieally* no show on earth in competition with the girls. Thompson & Smith and Russel Harmon each exhibited a fine litter of last fall’s hatching of Poland China pigs. Thompson & Smith got Ist on boar and Harmon 2nd. On sow the three judges each picked a different pig, and no prize was awarded. - v Financially, the show will not only pay out, which was as much as was hoped for this first time, but there will be a small balance left in the treasury. The door receipts of the whole week were about SIBO. Of this there was received S6O on Saturday, showing paid admissions that day of 600, besides which were many in that day on family season tickets.
