THE SNEAK THIEF VISITED FAIR OAKS.
The sneak thief who got away H. F. Parker’s jewelry and the chamber-maid’s ready cash, from the Makeever House, Wednesday evening, is believed to have spent the greater part of the same night at Fair Oaks. j! He iegistered here as Barnes, but about 11 o’clock that same man turned up at the Cunningham hotel at Fair Oaks, and registered as R. A. Platt. He claimed to have driven there from Parr, which statement proved to be a Jie. He stayed all left the next morning. His writing on the hotel register compared very closely with that here, and also his discretion. The only article so far missed was a pair of gold frame nose glasses, by Miss Lora Bruce, the teacher, who boards at the Cunning ham house.
