Reports of The Wheatfield Railroad.
Word comes from Indianapolis that within the last few days the Chicago, Indianapolis & Evansville new railway project has shown much more activity and investigation shows that more has been done in securing the right of way than has been understood to be the case. Money seems to have been ad vanced freely to perfect the survey of the line, and it is said that the persons backing the road have purchased 60,000 acres of coal land in the southern part of the state; also, that they have arrangements made to begin the ‘construction of the road as soon as the right of way is obtained. The persons behind this project have built several roads and when completed they have parties ready to take the property and begin operations. * This road is not backed by the capitalist Walsh, who recently failed, as many supposed.—Winamac Republican t ~ 1
