In truth, there is really a very large amount of fine-poultry in the county, and the prizes our poultry raiser* ink*', in shows where they choose I contest, have long been proverbial. Still our people, on the whole, have not derived nearly as much pleasure and profit from poultry production as they should. The merits of our poultry birds have not been kept before tbe public with sufficient pertinacity. Owner of fine roosters have left it to them, to (jo too much of the

crowing and of hens, the cackling; yea, and of turkeys, the strutting. Next week, at the coming big poultry and pet stock show, these birds and their owners will both be given opportunity to crow, cackle and strut, where the public can take notice thereof; and the pigeons and their lovers can coo their delight to all who choose to listen. Great efforts are being made to make it a big show and a good show, and one that Will be an adequate exponent of the present poultry development of the county, and give the desired impetus to its further extension. It is the first annual exhibition of the Iroquois Poultry and Pet Stock Association, and will be held in the Knights of Pythias building, here from next Monday, Jan., Bth to Saturday Jan., 13tb.
