Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 38, Number 29, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 22 December 1905 — GOOD PLACE TO TRADE. [ARTICLE]
GOOD PLACE TO TRADE.
People are coming to Rensselaer in crowds every day now, to do their trading, and townspeople who do not go to the stores either early in the morning or late in the afternoon, are apt to have more waiting than waiting on. And these big crowds from out of town are not all from the immediately sorrounding country, by any manner of means. They come not only from every township of Jasper county, but from neighboring counties also. The fame of our big stores with their finest stocks of goods and closest kinds of prices, has now extended not only all over Jasper county but way over the boundaries into all adjoining counties. And those who come here from a distance to trade never go away disappointed. In tact their most favorable anticipations are more than realized not only in the extent and excellence of the stocks carried, but in the very low prices which prevail. “Big business, good goods, small profits,” is perhaj»s an overworked ■ expression, but it is literally and everlastingly true, as applied to the enterprising merchants of Rensselaer.
