A Badly Broken Leg.
Mat Wentland, whose home is in Chicago, but who is a brother-in-law of John Younglas, of our city, met with a severe accident late Monday evening, in the road near S.irrey. He was hauling a water tank wagon for a traction engine, and in the darkress drove into a deep hole by the side of the road, and was thrown violently to the ground. Both bones of the right leg were broken a little above the ankle and the ankle joint was dislocated. A Rensselaer physician was called and reduced the fractures and dislocation. He is being cared for at the home of Jake Younglas, west of Surrey. He is about 42 years old and married, but lives apart from his wife.
