A Notable E[?] Preparing.

The Rensselaer Banqand Orchestra is preparing to give a notable function on Thursday evening of next week. It is to be a Concert Promenade. A concert will be given first, consisting of quite a number of choice and well practiced selectionsand including one very notable one called, “A trip to the Farm,’l This piece is a whole concert, entertainment and circus, by itself. Following the concert will come the dance, and which, also is to be one of the best.

It is the purpose ol the Band and Orchestra to give a series of well devised and well managed entertainments, and by that means raise the funds needed, rather than to ask the citizens for direct donations. This is certainly a meritorious method, just as the Band and Orchestra are v ery meritous organ izations, and we have no doubt it will meet with the liberal , supp Jit of our public spirited people. •
