RENSSELAER II DELPHI 00.
The return game between Rensselaer and Delphi, at the latter place Saturday, again resulted in an eisy victory for Rensselaer. Yet the fact that neither side scored in the first half may be taken by Delphi at least, as conclusive evidence that it was not such a very easy victory either. But the fact is that in the first half Coach Parker purposely weakened our team, by keeping Dobbins out entirely, and by changing half the other players around into places they were not accustomed to. But even as it was our boys kept the ball all the time in Delphi’s ground, and only lost a touch down by a queer decision by Delphi’s referee. In the second half our boys made
two touch downs and kicked one goal in 15 minutes, and then con sented to have the game ended. In the first touch down Kepner made a spectacular run around the ends and the whole length of the field, but when 5 yards from the line, was exhausted and Dobbins took the ball and carried it over. The other touchdown was made by Hauter, also a big run ot 35 yards. There was a record-breaking crowd at the game, numbering ibout 1,000 persons. It was a nice clean gentlemanly game, and our boys have nothing but praise for the treatment accorded them by the Delphi players, and all members. Quite a good deal ol blackguardism however was heard from the side lines. The next game is with Monticello next Saturday, on their grounds.
