Diphtheria at Laura.
Diphtheria has broken out in the Laura district in Walker tp., and one death has already occured. The victim was Roy Clayton, a 12 year old boy, who died Tuesday afternoon, after a sickness of only five days. He was treated by a physician from Wheat field, who had ordered a supply of anti-toxin but it did not arrive until after the boy’s death. Two other meml ers of the same family have the diseafie and will l>e given the anti-toxin if their condition becomes critical. Another family named Kerns were the first to develope the disease and had five oases, all in a mild form, and no physician was called ami the nature of the disease w.is not recognized. They are all about recovered. The lx>y that died atnl another child in the same family were both tiken sick while at school, aud thus the entire school were more or less exposed.
