Ditch Is Being Dug.

Actual work on the great Iroquois ditch began Thursday afternoon, with no tooting of horns nor ceremonies of any kind. Tom Parker, with three teams began scooping off dirt, from above the rock, on a sub contract, for Sternberg & Sons. As soon as sufficient rock surface is bare the work of drilling the |rock will begin w ith steam drills. The work now in progress is near Warner’s ice house, near the new bridge, towards the old fair grounds. This ice house, the one with a badly swayed back, is on the line of the ditch and will have to be removed.
