Lewis Loses Quo Warranto Case.
The quo warranto case of W. L. Lewis, wherein he sought to have Myrt B. Price removed sis engineer of the Iroquois ditch and himself re instated, was heard and decided by Judge Hanley, this afternoon. Thejudgesustained the demurrer of the defendant Price, and decided against the plaintiff, Lewis. The purport of the Judge’s decision was that the ditch engineer is not an officer under the contemplation of the law, but only a servant of the commissioners and subject to dismissal by them, whenever they deem it necessary. Intention to appeal to the Supreme Court was expressed.
