Oct. 5, Newton E. Sunderland, age 19, Rensselaer, laborer, Ist, marriage; to Gertrude D. Scott, age 18, McCoysburg, Ist, marriage. It is now stated that Charlesßaymond, of Danville, 111., who was here last week and took his eloping wife away from her paramour, Ed Oliver, declared very emphatically that he would never live with her again, and that his only object in coming after her, besides getting his money back, was to get her over into their home county, so that he could have her served with a summons, in divorce proceedings he had instituted. The woman, by all accounts, had a kind husband and everything to make life comfortable and pleasant, and threw it all away for the embraces of a conciencless adventurer, who probably would have soon deserted her, even if she had stayed with him.
