All Are Signing Jordan Road Petition.
’*' J f The petitions for a joint township election to build a good stone road over the bid 3J miles tn Jordan are being signed by nearly everybody they are presented to. The plan is certainly the most practicable and equitable of any that have so far been suggested. The total taxable property of Marion township, inolnding Bensselaer is now $2,520,090. Of Carpenter including Bemington, $1,750,255. Of Jordan $673 015. Total $4843,330. The estimated cost of the road is SB,OOO. An annual tax cf only two cents on the SIOO wou’d pay this principal and and interest, in lees than ten years, on the present assessments, and as property increased the time woo Id be shortened still more, or the tax reduced still lower.
