A Big Terminal Depot.
Toe Chicago papers now announce the proposed erection of a grand new terminal railroad depot building in Chicago, to take the plaoe of the present Dearborn Station. The five b’gj railroad systems whioh now enter that depot, over the tracks of the Western Indiana, and of which the Monon is one, will b 9 the builders of the new station. Thev have been quietly buying up the accessary ground, and are now said to have it praotioally all secured. The additional land alone ha's ooat,-it is stated, fully 500,000 dollars and the new building is to cost from 1,500,000 to 2,000,000; dollars and thns be one of the biggest and best in Chicago. The site will be the present depot grounds on Polk street, and exiended east to Slate and West to Clark. The intervening short and dirty streets, Custom House Plaoe aiffl Plymouth Court, are to be vaoated.
