A Notable Social Function.

The magnificent home of Mr. and Mrs. B. Forsythe was the scene of a social function of special importance yesterday afternoon, at which abont one hundrec and fifty ladies were sumptuously entertained.

The hostesses were Mrs Forsythe and Mrs, Judge Hanley and the reception was given in honor of their respective sisters Miss Emma Smith of New Philadelphia Ohio, End Mrs. Nellie Hardy of Woodward, Okla. The table in their elegant din ing room wasbeautiful in its decor ations of carnations and smilax, the red parlor rejoiced in red flowers, and sweet peas in luxurious abundance scented all the artistic rooms. The refreshments were elaborate and the occasion enjoyable to all present, Music was furnished by a professional harpist from the city. Amingtheout of town guests were Miss Cadwell Miss DaVeie o Lafayette, Mrs. Hill of Cbica go Mrs-Thompson of Sullivan, M'ss Ida Millican of New York. Miss Arnold of Watseka.
