The Simmons’ baby had been through a siege of chicken pox, and when the minister’s wife met little Annie Simmons she naturally inquired how the baby was getting on. “He’s some better,” said Annie, who was a shy and noncommittal young person of eight. “Very much better, I hope,” said the minister’s wife cheerfully. “He couldn’t be so very much better,” said Annie. “ ’cause he’s too little.”—Youth’s Companion.
