There is an interesting but grewsome relic owned in Rensselaer. 8 me two years or so ago, as many of our readers will remember, a colored man n med Brown committed some atrocious crim? in Evansville, outrage and murder of a young woman, as we rememb r. He was arrested and put in jar', and in an attempt to take him from the jail to lynch him, several of the would be lynchers were killed. Asa result th .-re were terrible times in Evansville for many days, and a bl.ody race war almost resulted. The man . Biown, whose crime started all the trouble, was tektn to Jefferson vile prison and di d ,?f cmaumption before he c uld be jrought io trial. H>s body was urned over to the medical colleges ::or dieseo.ion. and the Indianapo. is Dental College got it. Our townsman, Dr, W. L. Myer, the dentist, was a member of the class that dissected Brown, and to him fell the bead piece. And the entire skull, with tne upper jaw attached, and the lower jaw detached, are now among the most cherished ornaments of bis dental office.
