This Will Be A Dry Brook.

There is one Brook that has gone dry in this vicinity in spite of the wet weather. It is the town of Brook in Newton oounty. That las heretofore been one of the wettest and widest open towns of iits size in this region; having four saloons; and they run with jut little regard to law and order. The good people of the town and vicinity got tired of that state of things and a blanket remonstrance, bearing the signatures of a majority of the voters of Iroquois township has been filed with the County Commissio: era against the saloon business in that township, and the remoastcanoe has been leld sufficient. This is the first ,ime in Newton county that the doore law has been brought in o p'ay against the retail traffic. There ere no other saloons in the town*hip cu'side cf Brook,
