Another Jolt for Kentland Court House.
The Supreme Court Friday, ruled on the injunction case from Newton county, regarding the new court house at Kentland. The decission was to the effect that the money for the building was not legally sppropirated, and the county is now enjoined from paying out any more money on the appropriation. It seems that when the County Crunch appropriated the money, it was done on a mere verbal motion instead of by adopiing a regu'ar written ordin. ance. aa the law requires; and this method of making the appropriation is declared illegal. The bonds *for the court house were bought by Indianapolis par ies atd about $13,000 cf their money has already been expended F.om the way it locks now they will low it a 1, as there seems to be no legal way for repaying them As to what steps the Kentland people will now take to get their court bouse finished, remains to be seen They may try to get another appropriation, after their county council, now all gone to pieces, is reorganized, or they may chip in and finish the building at their own expense. There are some pretty rich and pretty nervy men in Kentland, and they may, if it seems the only way out of the trouble, just raise the needed amount and finish the building.
