Commissioners and Councillors.

The County Commissioners and County Council were in special cession Monday. The Commissioners organized themselves as a Board of Gravel Road Directors, according to the new law. Each commissioner will have supervision of the gravel and stone roads in his own commissioner’s district. The Commissioners also advised with theECounty Council es to appropriations needed for bridges and approaches. The Council made quite a large number of appropriations of which the following are the most important. For repairing grade to Hebron bridge, over the Kankakee river, $2,800. For new bridges: Wheatfield tp. one, $1,200; For three in Gillam, $1,500; for one in Walker, $720; one in Carpenter, $630, two in Jordan, $1,400; extension of bridge $l5O, To refund to R. A. Parkison. extreasurer, money erroniqusly paid county in 1903, $146.90. For better sewerage at sheriff’s residence and jail, and other repairs, $350. For a padded cell at the jail S4OO. For sewer pipe for a new main steam pipe from heating plant to court house, S3OO. To refund taxes paid on money lost in McCoy bank*. W, P. Bennett $lB 69; M.
