RENSSELAER WINS.
OLD RIVALS DEFEATED IN ANNUAL MEET 69 TO 53. In an exciting and closely contested meet the High School track team defeated the strong Monti cello team by the good margin of sixteen points last Saturday afternoon . The track was heavy from toe recent rain and part of the back stretoh was under water, Although the sky was threatening a large orowd witnessed the events whioh at no time were allowed to drag. Prof Haina of Wabash College acted as starter and referee and gave general satisfaction. Rensselaer led from the first event when Ellis won the fifty yard dash and Hauter followed by taking the mile. The runners were compelled to run on the outside of the track but good time was made in the half, quarters and relay The short dashes proved easy for Ellis, and Hauter won both the half and mile in good time In the high jump Barkley easily cleared five feet five inohes and and should figure in that event at Purdne in the state meet May 20. Dobbins, for the condition be was in, did good work and tied with Captain Barkley for first honors among the home team. Paroels and McFarland were in a class by
