The Alarm of Fire.
The quite unusual sound of the fire whistle was heard about 10 o’olook Tuesday night. The oanse was in the former John Coen property, on north Cullen street, now occupied by Mrs. Matie Hop kios aud her mother. Mrs. Austin It seen s that the soot g't on fire in the bottom of the chimney aud it beoame so hot that the kitchen floor was set on fire. B. F. Ferguson and Marshal Abbott got action on the fire with the lawn hose, before the fire company arrived, and it being evident that they oould oontrol it the firemen did not limber up at all. The damage was praotioally nothing.
