Tom Thorn, or as many call him, Horn, the man who shot Jim Portwood, at Brook last Wednesday gave bail of SI,OOO Friday and was released. Mr. Herath of near Mt. Ayr, was his bondsman. [Portwood by latest reports is likely tj get well. It seems by all acoonnts he was the aggressor, and had delibertiy started out to kill Thorn, and even fired first, but was too drunk to shoot straight. It is thought that he stands a better ohanoe of going to the pen than Thorn does.
