Jesse J. Fry is Doing Right

Billy Blodgitt, o' the Indianapolis News, was on the wrong track when be reked Jesse J. Fry, of Bose Lswd, in connection with his bank fai'ure, and compared his failure with those of the MoCoy atd Gilman banks and that of Settle at Wolcott. The fact is that though] Mr Fry has not paid anything to any of bis depositors through the trustee of his estate he has been at werk ever sinoe his bsnkjjclcsed Bird through m f -ult of his own, and has been paying his depositors at a rapid rate, Thus rs h s 55 depositors when he failed he i as paid 59 in full dollar for dollar, and nix per oent

interest on their money. He kaa also made some partial payments on some of the remaining olaims. He has paid eff the smaller depositors first .because they were usuelly the ones who needed theii money the most. And he has also selec'ed epeoial oases for payment where the oiroamatanoea mpde it especially important to the Creditors. As in the case of Dr. Wilson’s widow at Thayer, waose property was about to be foreclosed on a debt. Mr. Fry borrowed several hundred dollars, at interest and paid Mrs Wilson, so that the was able to save the property. Of tue entire $9 OCO Mr. Fry originia'ly owed h s depositors, $4,000 has already been paid and the rest will be, he declares ti the last dollar Many of the larger creditors are not pressing him, but instead are willingly wailing hie convenience, having fall confidence that he will repay them in full with good int re.t on their money.
