A Statement From Nr. Guy.

Editor Rensselaer Republican:— I wish to correct, through your paper, part of the statement made in your issue of April 11th 1905, as to the arrest of Mrs, Guy. The statement that Mr. Guy offered to refrain from filing these charges if she would not fight his divoroe and damage suits, is not true and no suoh offers were ever made by me or by any one with my knowledge or consent. I offered her attorney that if she would furnish a bond or undertaking conditioned that she would not injure or molest me, my ohildren or my property, that then, on aooount of the relationship between us, I would not file these suit although merritorious, I asked her attorney if she was willing that 1 should have a divorce,and he said he thought she was, No mention has ever been made about the damage suit. I have never entertained any idea of compromising any suit ..that was oommenoed. Respeotfully, Jasper Guy.
